Representative Harmon Named As Vice-Chair to Legislative Committee
Frankfort, KY— After serving just three terms in the Kentucky House, State Representative Mike Harmon (R-Danville) has received a Vice-Chairmanship to the House Tourism Development and Energy Committee.
“This appointment to serve as Vice-Chair for the House Tourism Development and Energy Committee is especially humbling as I am the only Republican Caucus member to receive that honor this year,” said Representative Harmon. “For the past six years, I have been privileged to have a hand in shaping legislation that is critical to the citizens of our state, and I look forward to continuing this endeavor as a committee Vice-Chair.”
First elected to represent the 54th House District in 2002, Representative Harmon will also continue to serve as a member of the House Banking and Insurance Committee, the House Elections, Constitutional Amendments and Intergovernmental Affairs Committee. As Vice-Chair, members of the House Tourism Development and Energy Committee will benefit from his understanding of the issues at hand and his ability to resolve concerns in a timely manner.
“Representative Harmon’s track record of achievements has been recognized and he is more than deserving of this Vice-Chair appointment,” state House Republican Floor Leader Jeff Hoover remarked. “He has proved himself as a versatile member who willingly reaches across the aisle to achieve greater means.”
The 2009 General Assembly convened for an organizational week January 6-9 and will reconvene for the reaming five weeks of this 30-day session on February 3.
